Dean Wilson, First Hawaiian to Make Mercedes-Benz Championship

Hawaiian's have many reasons to celebrate this week's Mercedes- Benz Championship being held at the breathtaking Kapalua Plantation Course in Kapalua, Maui. The best reason may be one of their own has qualified for the tournament -- Dean Wilson.

Wilson grew up in Hawaii and has been playing the Japan Tour. He is 20th on the money list. He currently makes his home in Las Vegas and practices at TPC Canyon.

He will not win the Mercedes-Benz Championship, as he started the final round tied for 30th place. Hawaiians are proud, anyway. Wilson should continue to play in the remainder of the Aloha Swing.
