"The Coronation" Part II of the Tiger Woods Story By ESPN

ESPN's weeklong celebration of Tiger's first decade on the PGA Tour has reached day two, known as "The Coronation". The article focuses on Tiger Woods breaking down the color barrier of golf, much as Jackie Robinson did when joining Major League Baseball. Tiger became the first black man to win the Masters, the first black competitor coming the year of Tiger's birth. Woods would go onto to win the event by the widest margin of Masters history; 12 strokes. Tiger would be only the fourth black player to compete at Augusta National, yet his victory would be spoiled in part by the comments of past Masters champion Fuzzy Zoeller. Tiger's performance certainly will pave the way to professional golf and the game itself for many black and middle-class players.
