Players Look To Catch Spark, Stay on Tour or Play in T.C.
As one of the PGA Tour's final events of 2006 rolls in, many players are looking to make serious money over the next two weeks to retain tour cards or qualify for the tour championship. Among notable players battling it out for positions in the top 30 of the Tour's money list, Sergio Garcia in 42nd, Camilo Villegas in 34th, and Stever Stricker in 32nd. The current 30th spot belongs to South African Tim Clark who is nearly $200,000 ahead of 31st player Mike Weir. Players must stand in the top 125 of the PGA Tour's Official Money list with the 125th spot being held by 2005 Q-school Grad Brian Bateman at $645,000. Notable players currently outside of the top 125 entering Disney include Brad Faxon, John Cook, and Mark Calacavecchia.
