Woods wins AP's "Story of the Year"
Well, as sick as you may be of hearing about every award Tiger captured this year, here's one more. The Associated Press named Tiger's 2006 season as the story of the year in all of sports.
The season was so remarkable not because of Tiger's late season dominance, but the loss of his father before the U.S. Open and Tiger's rebound after being cut.
Woods defeated such contenders as Vince Young leading the Longhorns to a national championship over the Trojans, the horse Babaro's victory and injury, and the Detroit Tigers capturing the World Series.
