Twitter Fred Funk leads after round one at Turtle Bay Championship
Fred Funk is only in his second season of playing on The Champions Tour, and season two is starting strong. He shot a 65 yesterday and had no bogeys at the Turtle Bay Championship. Funk is two strokes ahead of Tom Kite (who tied for second at the MasterCard Championship), David Eger, John Harris, Kiyoshi Murota and Tom McKnight.
The event takes place on The Arnold Palmer Course designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay and offers a $1.5 million purse.
Funk plans to play in five Champions Tour events this year. He plans to play in 27 events in the regular tour.
