Hale Irwin Wins MasterCard Championship

Hale Irwin won the Champions Tours season-opening event, the MasterCard Championship. He beat Jim Thorpe and Tom Kite by five strokes. It was his 45th victory, but his first win in 15 months. Irwin, age 61, is the sixth oldest player to win on the senior tour.
