Faldo hopes to return to the Ryder Cup
Traditionally, even the captains who lead winning squads in the bi-annual Ryder Cup do not return to the event in future matches. However, Nick Faldo (pictured right), the captain of the European squad crushed by Paul Azinger's American team, has publicly stated that he is interested in returning to the event.
He claims, "A month after I thought 'wow, I miss the guys'. I hadn't been in that situation for 11 years since my last Ryder Cup." He concluded, "We all got on great and I loved that buzz. It is such a special event and if something happens further down the road I will certainly think about it."
Of course, this news is relatively surprising considering the full-scale assault by the European media following his team's defeat, which almost unanimously proclaimed Faldo as the one responsible for the loss. Nevertheless, golf fans certainly must recognize that this guy has some strength.
