Garcia surges to second place in world rankings

Spanish golfer Sergio Garcia has never been known for his modesty or cool demeanor (hence El Nino). However, Gacria took a step toward putting his money where his mouth is after taking the second spot in the world golf rankings from American Phil Mickelson.

Garcia claimed the second spot after winning the HSBC Champions tournament, which took place this past weekend in Shanghai, China.

Though Garcia still failed to claim his first major championship this season during Tiger Woods' absence from the PGA Tour, his consistent strong play in 2008 led to this feat.

I like Davis Love III. I think this was an important victory for him. He still has 5 or 6 years until he can play on the senior tour.

    Thanks,
    Bill
