Wie Performs well at LPGA Q-School
Five years ago when Michelle Wie was a 14 year old phenom and was a contender in an LPGA major championship, noone probably expected her to have to go to Q-School.
Fast forward to 2008, Wie is in Florida trying to get her LPGA Tour Card. Playing in her first competitive round in more than two months, she did well. Wie shot a 69 and finds herself tied for sixth place. It is a good showing. But a long, long way from Wie's past.
Wie turned pro a week before her 16th birthday in 2005 and earned close to $20 million in endorsement and earnings her first year, becoming one of the biggest stars in women’s golf without having won a tournament.
