Choi Holds Onto Lead By One, Crowded Leaderboard

The third round of the Chrysler Championship in Tampa, Florida was played today as K.J. Choi entered with a one stroke lead. Choi held onto his lead shooting one under 70 on Saturday, unable to make his birdies count due to four bogeys. The event is all but over as four players are within two strokes of Choi. Troy Matteson continues an unbelievable rookie season as he shot a 7 under 64 to move within two shots of the lead. Matteson sat in the 179th spot on the Tour money list several weeks ago and now coul play in the Tour Championship with a win or high finish. In second place, first round leader Brian Gay sits tied with Ernie Els and Paul Goydos. Goydos, who began at 160th on the money list, is playing for his Tour Card needing approximately $300,000 to play on the TOUR next season. Els shoots a 1 under 70 to stay tied for second, certainly within striking distance for the win. Els is on the final 30th spot for the Tour Championship and looks to make it by holding on to his top five position in the Chrysler.
