Nick Watney Leads Chrysler Classic

After day two at the rainy Chrysler Classic of Greensboro, Nick Watney held onto the lead. Shooting a 71, he finished 9 under 135 for his two day total. If he hangs on to win it, Watney will pocket $900,000 in his first PGA win.

Nipping at his heels is Ryan Palmer who shot the best round of the day. He had started Friday seven strokes back of the leaders. However, an eagle and six birdies pulled him within one stroke of Watney.

Six players are tied for third and are one stroke behind Palmer: Chris Couch (68), Tim Petrovic (69), Eric Axley (69), Greg Owen (69), Ryan Moore (70) and Charley Hoffman (71).

Notably missing the cut was 2003 Masters Champion, Mike Weir.
