The Chrysler Championship will be contested tomorrow in Tampa, Florida with many more implications outside of who won. The Golf Channel has an article about several players who are trying to make the Tour Championship, those mentioned include Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, and Chad Cambell. In addition to the battle for spots in the season ending Tour Championship, may players look to earn their cards for the 2007 season. Paul Azinger finished last season in 187th place on the Tour's Money List, leaving him on partial status until taking his one time career money exemption. This year, 'Zinger sits at 122nd, needing to stay in the top 125, to earn his card back. Azinger did not play well at Disney last week and has to make the cut this week in order to gain full playing priveleges next year. Azinger will be playing near his hometown of Sarasota, Florida, not far from Tampa. Of course, Azinger likely will not be a full time player as he must fulfill his responsibilities as a golf commentator too.
