Randhawa Takes Lead on First Day of HSBC Champions Golf Tournament in Shanghai

Not many Americans have heard of him, but India's Jyoti Randhawa has taken a one shot lead after the first round of the HSBC Champions Golf Tournament in Shanghai. His day included seven birdies. He shot a 65. Having earned $85,000 this year, he currently ranks 248th on the money list and has made the cut only one time this year.

Three players are one stroke behind the leader, including 2005 US Open champion, Michael Campbell.

Tiger Woods sits at even par. This was his first tournament in five weeks. He plans to compete later this month at the Grand Slam of Golf for tour champions in Hawaii and in December at the Target World Challenge in California.

Today's event is the first tournament on the 2007 European Tour.
