Tiger Woods Pulls a Shanghai Surprise

Tiger Woods, the #1 player in the world, shot an 8-under 64 today at the HSBC Championionship. It was a course record-tying round at Shanghai's Sheshan Golf Club. He is now just two strokes behind the leader, Jyoti Randhawa. Woods followed a mediocre first round of par 72 to move within two strokes of the lead. Woods started the day at seven strokes behind the leaders, but again showed that he is in fact not any other golfer in pulling out huge rounds to get back in the game.

South African Reteif Goosen is in second place at 9 under. Goosen was in contention during last week's TOUR Championship, but failed to come through to spectacular rounds by Aussie Adam Scott.

The course record was actually set earlier in the day by Swede, Henrik Stenson.
The HSBC Championship is not an ordinary European Tour event, considered by many, including Tiger Woods, as the "Asian Major". The event includes 10 of the world's top twenty ranked players.
