Tiger Woods:Course Designer

Yes, the world's greatest and most notable player follows in the footsteps of heroes such as Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus in entering the course design business. Woods' made the announcement after pondering the idea for several years. Woods has not yet decided where his first course will be, but says, "My goal is to provide a unique collection of amazing courses all over the world that represent what I love about golf," Fellow TOUR stars Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson have already designed signature courses. The PGA TOUR reports Tiger will be the chairman of his new company and plans to build courses worldwide for all skill levels. Obviously any course with the Tiger name on it is sure to draw strong appeal. Nicklaus and Palmer have been designing championship layouts for over twenty years, some of which have claimed strong critical success. Palmer's K Club design near Dublin, Ireland hosted the 2006 Ryder Cup and provided a challenge for many players. Woods hopes to share the best traits of courses in North America and Europe, as well as other locations, with players all over the world.
