Bob Hope Chrysler Classic Tournament Attendees to receive Note from former President Gerald Ford

The Bob Hope Chrysler Classic PGA Tournament will be held January 17 - 21 and those playing and attending will receive a very special note written by then-ailing former President Gerald Ford.

In the letter, Ford jokes that he dropped out of public eye because he had been practicicing for the "Senior, Senior, Senior Champions PGA Tour."

He urges the tournament players to cherish every moment of the event. "Whether you are in the morning or evening of life, don't forget to look up and thank the guy that started this thing and created the exciting times we all are having -- or had."

One amusing Gerald Ford quote says, "I would like to deny all allegations by Bob Hope that during my last game of golf, I hit an eagle, a birdie, an elk and a moose."
