Twitter Casey Wins Player of the Year
Englishmen Paul Casey captured the European Tour's Player of the Year honor after a spectacular 2006 season. Casey's campaign included two stroke play victories at the China Open and the Johnnie Walker Classic. Casey also won the HSBC World Match Play Championship over the world's best (including Tiger and Jim Furyk). The 29 year old also made the European Ryder Cup team which posted an impressive victory against a star studded American cast.
Casey nearly won the European Tour's Order of Merit honor, but very narrowly fell to Irishman and fellow Ryder Cup team member Padraig Harrington.
