Don Massengale, two-time PGA Tour Winner, dies

Don Massengale, a former PGA Tour winner, died of a heart attack on Tuesday, January 2 in Texas.

Massengale was a member of the PGA Tour from 1960 thru 1970. In 1966, he won both the Bing Crosby National Pro-Am and the Canadian Open. He finished 27th on the money list. The Bing Crosby event was played at Pebble Beach and Massengale beat Jack Nicklaus and won $11,000 for the victory.

From 1987 - 1996, he played on the Champions Tour and won two events. He was the owner of the Massengale Golf Academy at Augusta Pines in Spring, Texas.
