Five Players Tied for Lead at Mercedes-Benz Championship

The wind proved to be a difficult force in the first round of the Mercedes-Benz Championship. With gusts of up to 35 mph, the wind made it difficult for the players to walk uphill on the course.

Only twelve players managed to break par: five of them now enter day two tied for first place. They are K.J. Choi, Will Mackenzie, Vijay Singh, Brett Weterich and Stephen Ames.

Despite the strong winds Mackenzie shot an eagle on the par 5, ninth hole.
