Tiger Woods to Receive Charlie Bartlett Award

Tiger Woods is being honored with the Charlie Bartlett Award, given to a professional golfer for unselfish contibutions for the betterment of society.

In 1996, when Woods turned pro, he and his father, Earl, started a foundation. Among its contributions, the foundation has opened the Tiger Woods Learning Center in Anaheim, CA where 5,000 students have studied forensic science, robotics and engineerng in an afterschool program.

In 2000, he partnered with Target Stores on the "Start Something" campaign designed for children 8 - 17 to help them define goals.
