Duke University is defending the golf team's decision to remove Andrew Giuliani, son of former New York City Rudy Giuliani, from their squad.

Andrew Giuliani was released from Duke's team due to violations of team rules. These included throwing an apple at another golfer, breaking a club during a tournament, injuring a teammate, and becoming verbally abusive with his coach.

Giuliani claims that his dismissal was a violation of a contract he had with the coach. Duke was sued by the mayor's son last July.
