Michelle Wie headed to LPGA Qualifying School
Since turning professional, Michelle Wie's career has taken a turn for the worse. Unable to make a cut in a PGA Tour event, Wie's campaign to become the first female member of the PGA Tour looks unlikely.
After heavy criticism from her LPGA peers for skipping women's events to try her hand in men's tournaments, it looks like Wie's strategy has backfired. This year, she will compete in LPGA Qualifying School in an attempt to earn her Tour Card as she failed to earn her card through sponsor's exemptions this past season.
Wie has not won a tournament of any variety since the United States Women's Amateur Public Links Championship in 2003. She was 13 at the time.
