Wie to return to the LPGA Tour
As noted in previous post, teenage (former?) phenomenon Michelle Wie was forced to compete in the LPGA Tour's Qualifying School after poor performance last season. Unlike in past years, the Stanford student would be forced to do battle with other struggling LPGA professionals in the pursuit of a tour card for the 2009 season.
With only one round left in the final stage of Q-School, Wie is in solid position at second place after a Saturday score of 68. Wie trails the tournament's leader, Stacy Lewis, by one stroke going into the final round.
Considering that she must only finish in the top 20 for the week, it appears that Wie will make her triumphant return to the greatest stage in women's golf.
Well, she qualified. Good for her---the LPGA needs here A LOT! Tournaments are down and they need someone to draw fans.
