Daly banished for six months
The troubled life of John Daly seems to have taken another radical twist. Well, radical by the standards of most professional golfers.
Daly announced yesterday that he has been suspended from PGA Tour events for a period of six months. Although Daly has not been present at TOUR events very frequently as of late due to his lack of a Tour card, he will be unable to use sponsor's exemptions for the first half of the season. This suspension, in all likelihood, will prevent Daly from returning to the PGA Tour once again unless he would manage to advance through qualifying school next winter.
The Associated Press may have said it best: "John Daly smashed one tee shot off the top of a beer during a pro-am. At another tournament, he returned from a rain delay with Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden as his caddie. And his most memorable photo this year came in an orange jail suit, eyes half-closed."
Daly, who has captured two major championships over the course of his career, told the media that he sees this as the low point of a series of troubles.
