Sorenstam rises to the top at Dubai Ladies Masters
Annika Sorenstam (pictured left) traveled to Dubai this past week to compete in the final tournament of her LPGA career. Of course, Sorenstam has been the face of women's golf for years, having accumulated a long list of victories and titles that rivals even Tiger Woods.
At the Dubai Ladies Masters, Sorenstam leapfrogged the leaders to take the top spot after a miraculous Friday score of 66. With 36 holes left, Sorenstam leads Russian superstar Maria Verchenova by a single stroke.
She explains, "My goal was to clean up the round that I had on Thursday, and with no bogeys today, I was able to do that. So, I have every reason to feel pleased with my efforts."
Sorenstam is seeking her third consecutive title at the Ladies Masters, which would certainly give star the finish to her career she may have hoped for.
